RACE SUMMARY
First run in 1974 as the Coral Golden Hurdle Final, the Pertemps Network Final is a Premier Handicap Hurdle and the culmination of the Pertemps qualifying series.
Open to horses aged five and older, it is run on the New Course over 3 miles with 12 hurdles to be jumped.
Runners qualify by finishing in the required placing in a Pertemps qualifier, with qualifier winners guaranteed a place from 2025, subject to meeting the weight conditions.
Pertemps has sponsored the race since 2002.

A really interesting, if slightly odd finding, is that 9/11 winners (81.8%) had a tongue-tie, some in combination with others aids. When it was a first-time tongue-tie or in combination with another aid for the first time there were five winners from only 11 of the 256 runners since 2016.
