RACE SUMMARY
First run in 1971, the Turners Novices’ Hurdle is a Grade 1 contest for the leading novice hurdlers at the Cheltenham Festival.
Registered as the Baring Bingham Novices’ Hurdle, it is open to horses aged four and older that qualify as novice hurdlers.
Run on the Old Course over 2 miles 5 furlongs (4,225m), the race features 10 hurdles.
Four-year-olds carry less weight than older horses, with a 7lb allowance for fillies and mares.
