How to read our Jockey analysis...

Our Jockey Analysis goes beyond simply counting Festival winners.

We analyse each jockey's Cheltenham Festival record from a number of different angles to identify patterns, strengths and potential opportunities that may not be obvious from headline statistics alone.

Each jockey page brings the data together into a series of Pulse Checks, helping you quickly identify where a jockey has historically performed well — and where their record may suggest caution.

What do the terms mean?

Pulse Rate
A highly positive aspect of the jockey's current Cheltenham Festival profile.

Pulse Stopper
A statistic or trend that could act as a warning sign. It highlights an area where the data suggests you should pause before automatically supporting a jockey.

Pulse Insight
A particularly interesting finding from the analysis — something the underlying data reveals that may not be immediately obvious from the headline figures.

Pulse Edge
A statistic or trend that could give punters an advantage when assessing a jockey. It identifies an area where the historical data suggests the jockey may be worth particular attention.

Strike Rate
The percentage of the jockey's rides that have resulted in a win. We show this alongside the number of winners and runners to put the figure into context.

Profit / Loss
The theoretical return from following the jockey's rides at the stated starting-price assumptions. This helps show whether a strong strike rate has translated into a profitable betting angle.

Handicap vs Non-Handicap
We separate these races because a jockey's Festival performance can be very different depending on the type of race.

Race Aids
We examine factors such as first-time headgear and other race aids to identify whether they appear to have an impact on Festival performance.
